I have taken a cue from Al Hirschfeld, who included his daughter’s name, Nina, in his caricatures and satirical portraits, and decided to somehow invoke the name of “Meryl Streep” in each of my blogs — or at least have something related to her. I thought of using my dog’s name (too personal), names from novels (who’d know?), members of Congress (too frightening), and a host of other threads. I decided to use Meryl Streep as my muse in celebration of her long and illustrious career, and as a shout out to those of us of a certain age who are still employed in this, or any economy.
Out of respect, I won’t be blogging about my friends and family, except for a superficial mention now and then. The cat? Well, the cat will get over it.
